The Benefits of Cosmetic Dental Veneers
Patients looking to straighten crooked teeth, remove deep staining, or repair chips and cracks from the teeth near the front of the mouth are encouraged to speak with the team at Natalie K. Provenzano DDS, Inc in San Jose, California, to determine if they are appropriate candidates for solutions such as porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers, sometimes referred to as dental veneers, are a way to make a subtle improvement in the smile or completely transform it. Porcelain veneers can disguise imperfections on the teeth near the front of the mouth while looking perfectly natural.
How does a porcelain veneer work?
Dental veneers are essentially tooth coverings made of a thin ceramic shell that is bonded onto the front of the tooth. Underneath, the natural tooth remains, often requiring minimal alteration or reduction, but the new veneer hides imperfections. Drs. Provenzano and Simel design the veneers, so they blend in with the smile, being the same shape and size as the surrounding teeth.
What can front teeth veneers be used for?
Dental veneers are great for patients who have concerns such as:
- Misaligned or crooked teeth
- Spaces between teeth
- Permanently stained teeth
- Chipped or cracked teeth
- Unusually shaped or short teeth
Who is a candidate for porcelain veneers?
Patients in good overall health, free from periodontal disease and cavities, and do not have significant clenching and grinding are the best candidates for porcelain veneers. Take the first step in your smile makeover and schedule an appointment with the Natalie K. Provenzano DDS, Inc team today!
